The Ohio man who helped free three kidnapped women has become an overnight Internet sensation, thanks to his frank interview style.
Charles Ramsey, a 43-year-old dish washer at a local restaurant, rescued the women who had been missing for a decade in Cleveland, Ohio, when he heard a woman’s scream next door.
The colorful language he used during interviews in portraying the moment when he first discovered the victims went viral online and are creating a "Ramsey frenzy" in the U.S. on social networks.
He said in an initial interview that "when a little pretty white girl ran into a black man’s arms, something was wrong," and added in another interview that "up until yesterday, the only thing that had me losing sleep was the lack of money," but now he would have trouble sleeping for the knowledge of what had happened in the home next to his.
Numerous Twitter users left comments about the hero’s brave actions, while sharing his interview videos and parodying what he said.
Twitter user Rickmast said, “Charles Ramsey deserves a big reward & a lot of endorsements,” and user Tony Luca called him a “real American hero.”
Together with his hilarious remarks, the recording of his more profane talking to a 911 emergency operator is also circulating on the Internet.
The unassuming hero also said in a recent interview that he wanted to give all of his reward money to the victims.
