Netflix has unveiled the first official look at the third and final season of “Squid Game,” and the new footage promises a chilling return to the deadly competition, with shocking twists, a possible childbirth and a new maze-based game.

The trailer, released via Netflix's official YouTube channel, kicks off with iconic pink-suited guards transporting a coffin into a dormitory. Inside lies Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae), who opens his eyes, signaling the start of the series' third and final chapter.

In the trailer, contestants are also seen receiving balls of two different colors, which separate them into teams. In a particularly devastating twist, a mother and her son are placed on opposing teams, with the two destined to compete against one another in a game of life or death.

Additional footage teases the emergence of a new game, including a massive, maze-like arena where contestants appear to engage in battles.

The elusive VIPs — the masked elites orchestrating the deadly games — also make their return after sitting out Season 2. Seen preparing for a lavish banquet, the identities of the powerful sponsors remain shrouded in mystery.

The teaser’s most chilling moment comes in its closing seconds: the sound of a baby crying. It’s an indication that Jun-hee (Jo Yu-ri), a pregnant contestant who entered the games in Season 2, could give birth during the games.

One newly released still depicts the pink guards standing before a keyhole-shaped opening, while another shows players framed by a knife-shaped cutout — striking metaphors for the themes of antipodes and competition.

“Squid Game” Season 3 premieres June 27 on Netflix.
