Renault Korea announced Tuesday that its midsize sport utility vehicle, Grand Koleos, is maintaining its strong market presence into the second quarter of 2025, following an impressive performance earlier this year.

After winning the “SUV of the Year” award at the 2025 Korea Car of the Year in February, Grand Koleos recorded an average of over 5,000 units sold monthly in the first quarter, accounting for 83 percent of the company’s total sales.

The carmaker attributed performance and durability to the car's rising sales.

Its hybrid variant, Grand Koleos Hybrid E-Tech, in particular, delivers 245 horsepower and 15.7km/l fuel efficiency, and highway tests have shown up to 40 percent better fuel economy than gasoline models. It uses impact-resistant prismatic battery cells and a liquid cooling system.

The 2.0 gasoline turbo model stands out as the only in its class to receive a Type 3 low-emission vehicle certification -- a government-issued designation for eco-friendly cars that qualify for special benefits.

Grand Koleos also features Korea’s first passenger-side display system, the 12.3-inch openR panorama screen, which supports over-the-top streaming, music services and web browsing.

Reinforced with ultra-high-strength materials like hot press forming steel and Giga Steel, Grand Koleos earned the highest safety score of 86.9 in the 2024 Korean New Car Assessment Program evaluation.

With its blend of performance, efficiency, technology and safety, Grand Koleos is on track to surpass 40,000 cumulative units sold in Korea.
