Rain clouds from the western part of the Korean Peninsula are bringing widespread spring rain across the nation on Tuesday.

The mountainous regions of Jeju Island have been hit with heavy rainfall at a rate of 30 millimeters per hour, with total precipitation exceeding 160 mm. A heavy rain warning has been issued for the mountainous areas of Jeju. In the Yeongnam region, up to 80 mm of rain is expected, while the Seoul metropolitan area may see up to 50 mm.

According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, the rain is expected to continue across most parts of the country until late Tuesday night. In some areas, including the east coast of North Gyeongsang Province and the east coast and mountainous regions of Gangwon Province, rain may persist until early Wednesday morning.

The early summer-like temperatures seen in recent days will temporarily return to seasonal norms due to the rain. Daytime temperatures on Tuesday are expected to be 5 to 8 degrees Celsius lower than at the same time on Monday. High temperatures are forecast to range from 16 to 21 degrees Celsius.
