A Korean woman was arrested on charges of murdering a newborn baby four hours after she gave birth on Sunday, news reports said.
The 32-year-old woman, surnamed Nam, allegedly beat the infant to death and left the newborn in a hotel bathroom. Nam denied the allegations saying the baby died while she was washing blood off of the newborn‘s body.

The victim’s body was found swathed in towels by hotel staff at around 1:15 p.m. in a bathroom at a hotel located in Jongno-gu, central Seoul. Some bruises were spotted on the body, police found.
Nam had entered the hotel room, then pregnant, with a U.S. military soldier at around 5 a.m. Sunday. She reportedly met her partner at a club Saturday night.
At 9 a.m. Sunday, she found that her amniotic fluid began to leak during sex and the soldier left the room to buy her a pad. Nam delivered a baby girl with the partner absent.
The father of the victim is reportedly another U.S. military soldier formerly stationed in a base in Korea and is currently in the United States.
Leaving the body of the baby in her room, Nam is alleged to have moved to her friend‘s room to have lunch, news reports said. Nam was arrested at the hotel.
Police have requested an autopsy of the victim’s body.
