Hwaeomsa plum blossoms in Gurye

To see some of the country’s most impressive plum blossoms, stop by Hwaeomsa, a temple run by the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism on the slopes of Jirisan in South Jeolla Province.

The distinctively deep pink flowers here were designated as a natural monument last year, and the temple is home to several nationally recognized treasures, like its stone lanterns.

Tulips at Everland

From Friday, the signature Four Seasons Garden at Everland, South Korea’s largest theme park in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province, will showcase 1.2 million tulips and daffodils.

Close to 100 different varieties of spring flowers, including roses and plum and cherry blossoms, will be on display.

Roses, freesias at Manorblanc

Manorblanc on Jeju Island is in full bloom with roses, freesias and Scotch brooms.

Admission is 4,000 won, which can be used as credit toward a drink purchase at the Manorblanc cafe.

The garden is open year-round from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Young children under grade school age are not permitted. Pets must be leashed.

Cherry blossoms at E-world

Cherry blossom season has already begun at E-world in Daegu. Come see trees bursting with white and pink petals, with amusement park rides on the side.

An all-inclusive pass to E-world is priced at 49,000 won through April 6.

Passes, available online, grant not only access to Blossom Road and other attractions, but discounts on drinks at an observatory cafe.

Picking strawberries at Yulbom

The freshest possible strawberries are waiting to be picked at Yulbom, a botanical garden in Gwangju, Gyeonggi Province.

Visitors have 30 minutes to pick up to 1 kilogram of strawberries at market price. Making a 600-milliliter bottle of strawberry jelly or a 500-gram jar of strawberry jam costs 16,000 won.

A 5,000 won admission fee for the garden is separate. Reservations should be made at yulbom1107.modoo.at.
