For the first time ever, classics such as 'Succession' and 'Euphoria' to enter Korean streaming platform

Coupang Play will be the exclusive provider of HBO and HBO Max’s original content in Korea, starting March 21.
HBO and HBO Max are a television network and streaming service, respectively, and have produced celebrated content such as the Emmy-winning “Succession,” which delves into the lives of a mega-rich media conglomerate family; “Euphoria,” superstar Zendaya’s high school drama; and “White Lotus,” featuring Blackpink’s Lisa in her acting debut. The original content lineup also includes long-celebrated fantasy dramas “Game of Thrones,” “House of the Dragon,” and “The Last of Us.”
This is the first time a Korean streaming platform will officially distribute HBO and HBO Max content in Korea.
The exclusive distribution of this content comes as a result of Coupang Play securing a partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery, the parent company of HBO.
Going forward, Coupang Play said it will showcase Warner Bros. Pictures films alongside HBO and Max original series through its content partnership.
Jang Kuk-sung, head of content acquisition at Coupang Play, stated via a press release,
“We are thrilled to significantly expand Coupang Play’s content library through this strategic partnership with HBO, one of the world's top content powerhouses.” He added, “We will continue to expand our content offerings to provide viewers with the best entertainment experience.”
