Tacos in Sinyongsan

For those craving tacos in Sinyongsan, The Taco Booth offers a flavorful experience.

Located in the bustling food alley of Yongnidan-gil in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, this vibrant eatery has already captured the hearts of taco lovers with its bold, well-seasoned dishes.

The Taco Booth, originally launched as a "New York-style" taqueria in Apgujeong-dong, Seoul, has built a strong following with its signature birria tacos and quesadillas, known for their crispy tortillas and perfectly marinated meat.

Recognized as one of Seoul’s four best taco restaurants by the popular food show “Master of Living” in June 2023, The Taco Booth’s menu extends beyond tacos and quesadillas.

Diners can enjoy Mexican-style rice bowls and burritos in a variety of rich, hearty flavors. The birria tacos served with a side of cilantro allow diners to customize the flavor.

The restaurant’s popularity makes securing a table a challenge, but an affordable lunch set menu, available from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., is a great option for those looking to avoid the crowds at peak hours.

The Taco Booth is open daily from 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m., with a break from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The last order is taken at 10:30 p.m., so plan accordingly for a taste of these sought-after tacos.

Painting on toast

Forget the idea that you must use a colored pencil or a paintbrush to draw.

Soo Chae Hwa, a cafe and flower shop in Seoul, offers customers a chance to paint on a canvas of toast using different mediums.

You can choose three Greek yogurt colors from among 13: white, earth brown and blue, among others. You can also select two jam flavors from four options: strawberry, apple, pineapple, mango and chocolate syrup. Each toast "painting" is priced at 12,000 won ($8.37).

Draw a puppy, your favorite K-pop idol or anything that strikes your fancy and call it breakfast art.

Soo Chae Hwa is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day.

Step into world of cookies

The Korean hit mobile game CookieRun: Kingdom is celebrating its 4th anniversary with an immersive exhibition, "A Game of Truth and Deceit," inviting fans to step into the fantastical world of their favorite cookies.

Running at DDP Showroom until March 16, the event offers a series of interactive experiences where visitors can become characters from the game. The exhibition features four hands-on booths.

First, in the Fusic booth, visitors move in sync with Shadow Milk Cookie and Pure Vanilla Cookie, turning their actions into an interactive performance. With Gloframe, the lighting shifts dynamically, prompting visitors to strike different poses. At Spinema, a 360-degree rotating camera captures every angle as participants pose on the circular stage. Infiniwalk offers an immersive adventure where visitors walk or run on an endless treadmill, rescuing CookieRun characters and escaping the Tower of Lies.

Collect stamps from all four booths to enter a lucky draw for a chance to win CookieRun-themed merchandise, including traditional Korean masks ("tal"), "norigae" ornamental accessories, art books and postcards.

A special art collaboration featuring hanji, traditional Korean paper made from mulberry bark, crafts and hanbok-inspired designs created for the 4th anniversary will also be on display.

The exhibition runs daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and admission is free for all visitors.
