
Six people died, and dozens more were injured and about 100 people were evacuated after a fire at a hotel construction site in Busan on Friday, according to the Busan Fire Headquarters.
The fire broke out at the Banyan Tree Hotel construction site in Gijang-gun, Busan, at around 10:51 a.m. Thirteen people were pulled out of the building's 12th floor, six of whom died due to cardiac arrest.
The seven others workers suffered minor inures such as smoke inhalation, and preliminary reports from the rescue authorities showed that 25 people in all have sustained minor injuries.
Busan Fire Headquarters issued a level two emergency response alert, which requires personnel from eight to 14 fire stations to respond to the situation.
