Six people died, and dozens more were injured and about 100 people were evacuated after a fire at a hotel construction site in Busan on Friday, according to the Busan Fire Headquarters. Nearly half of Koreans who received emergency medical care due to self-harm, including attempted suicide, in 2023 were in their teens or 20s, government data showed Thursday. Government data showed Wednesday that 81 percent of the 231 people who died or went missing in maritime accidents from 2019 to 2023 were not wearing life jackets at the time of the accident.
