Gonjiam International Music Festival will mark its 10th anniversary this year with a special program. Scheduled to take place from Aug. 2 to Aug. 9 at Namhansanseong Art Hall in Gwangju, Gyeonggi Province, the festival aims to become a leading wind instrument festival in Asia.

As part of the festival, a collaborative audition project with the Berlin Philharmonic Karajan Academy will take place. Conducted annually with principal wind players from the Berlin Philharmonic, it aims to provide wind instrument musicians in Korea and Asia with educational opportunities and a chance to enter the global stage.

To celebrate its 10th anniversary, a Festival Orchestra will be newly formed, bringing together selected young musicians from Korea and Asia to perform alongside Berlin Philharmonic soloists in both the opening and closing concerts. This initiative aims to create a platform for cross-generational and cross-border musical exchange.

The festival will also feature solo, ensemble and collaborative performances by Berlin Philharmonic soloists, along with open masterclasses and lecture programs.
