South Korean retail giant Lotte Group said Friday that it hosted an annual forum focused on inclusion at its human resources education center in Osan, Gyeonggi Province.
Under the theme “Be in Harmony; Inclusion,” the forum highlighted the importance of fostering inclusion as a cornerstone for sustainable growth. Following the will of its chairman Shin Dong-bin, Lotte has adopted an inclusion charter and incorporated this into its management practices across the group.
The event was attended by key executives, including Vice Chairman Lee Dong-woo, along with some 1,000 employees who vary in gender, age and nationality.
The program featured speeches by experts, panel discussions, and conversations between employees and external speakers.
“I hope this forum provides chances to share the outcomes of our unwavering commitment to diversity, while exploring ways to further enhance these initiatives,” said Lee. “We aim to strengthen our presence in the industry through these efforts.”
Meanwhile, Lotte has expanded job opportunities for women and people with disabilities, and fostered the growth of foreign national employees. The company also made parental leave mandatory and revamped its leave policy to include parents of primary school children.
