The suspect, who has prior convictions for burglary, received surgery to change his jawline and wore wigs to avoid detection, the police said.

The suspect also received distraction osteogenesis –- surgical lengthening of bones -– to avoid detection.

The police said the suspect received surgeries in an attempt to hide his identity.

“He claims that he received plastic surgery to overcome his complex about his short stature, but that appears to be false,” the police said.
