Renault Samsung Motors Co. is expanding its presence with the compact sedan the SM3 Neo. Along with the crossover utility vehicles the QM3 and QM5 Neo, the SM3 Neo has been designed under Renault Samsung’s new design identity, accentuated by a European style.

In the SM3 Neo, one of Renault Samsung’s best-selling models, LED lights with chrome bezel have been applied to the lower bumper to give the vehicle a stronger look.

The rear of the vehicle has been redesigned with combination lamps ― which contain LED lamps and fog lights ― to create a more organized yet dynamic look. The SM3 Neo is fitted with Nissan’s H4Mk engine and the X-CVT continuously variable transmission, which come together to give the vehicle a fuel economy of 15 kilometers per liter, the best in its segment.

In addition to its fuel economy and stylish design, the SM3 Neo comes with a host of cutting-edge safety and convenience features.

Features new to the SM3 Neo include a forward warning system and hill start assist, which prevents vehicles from rolling backward on slopes.

With the upgraded design and on-board features, Renault Samsung has been targeting younger drivers in their 20s and 30s, maximizing the “new car effect.”

In May, 2,368 units of the SM3 Neo were sold on the local market, boosting sales for the segment by 63 percent from a year ago.

“Maximizing consumers’ interest even before its launch by combining the SM3 Noe’s image with the tantalizing feeling when you are falling in love seems to have worked well,” Renault Samsung’s marketing chief Joo Soo-yeon said.
