Michelin-star chefs will visit Seoul next month, invited by popular South Korean chef Edward Kwon. Kwon is hosting a charity event titled “Taste of Star Chefs” which will bring six celebrity chefs to each showcase to create a special menu using Korean ingredients.

Participating chefs include Peter Rudolph, Executive Chef of Madera, the signature restaurant at Rosewood Sand Hill Hotel in California; Gian Luigi Gerosa, Culinary Director of The Mira Hong Kong; Richard Ekkebus, Culinary Director at The Landmark Mandarin Oriental in Hong Kong; Tam Kwok Fung, Executive Chinese Chef at City of Dreams in Macau; Shinichiro Takagi, owner and executive chef of Zeniya in Japan; and Xavier Salomon, Executive Chef at The Ritz Carlton in Half Moon Bay, U.S.

“I am happy to host an event which will promote Korean cuisine and culture to world-renowned celebrity chefs. With the rising interest and demand for multicultural cuisine today, this event will be an opportunity to upgrade the dining-out-culture in Korea,” said Kwon.

The specially created menus can be tasted at two of Kwon’s restaurants in Seoul― LabXXIV in Cheongdam-dong for one month from Nov. 16, and The Mixed One in Hannam-dong, which opens on Oct. 28, from Nov. 17 to 21.

The Mixed One is a family restaurant with the concept of modern Californian multi-cuisine, offering dishes from all around the world. In addition to its affordable fusion menus, the restaurant has several notable points ― a large screen showing the inside of the kitchen to show customers how the food is being made, and the 10-person Chef’s Table right next to the kitchen where the chef can personally serve dishes and take special orders.

Kwon plans to host the charity event every quarter starting next year. All profit made through this event will be donated to the Korean Committee for UNICEF.
