Seoul International Hikers Club is planning a trip to Gangjin, South Jeolla Province, on April 21.

The group will visit Baekryeong-sa, a temple that is more than 1,200 years old and produced several great monks during the Goryo Kingdom.

The trip coincides with the temple’s tea ceremony, conducted each year to honor the great monks. They will have a small concert in a camellia forest at the same time.

The group leaves on a chartered bus at 7:50 a.m. near Gwanghwamun Station.

To register, contact sihclub@gmail.com with your full name, contact information and the number of people travelling with you. Space is limited to 10 people, assigned on a first-come-first-served basis. The trip costs 50,000 won.

This week the SIHC will also go on a trek through northern Seoul. Starting at Hanseong University Station at 1 p.m. the group will walk through Seongbuk-dong and Bukchon before reaching Insa-dong. There is no charge, but you should register in advance with the above email address.
