Hanwha Group’s financial affiliates have signed a series of partnerships with Abu Dhabi institutions to expand cooperation in digital finance, stablecoins and cross-border financial infrastructure, the group said Friday.
The agreements were signed Wednesday at the Abu Dhabi Investment Forum held at the JW Marriott Hotel Seoul.
ADIF introduces Abu Dhabi’s investment environment and growth industries to international companies and investors, focusing on developing long-term investment and business partnerships.
Hanwha Life Vice Chairman and CEO Kwon Hyek-Woong, Hanwha Life Vice President and Head of Global Strategy Kim Dong-wook, and Hanwha Asset Management CEO Im Dong-jun attended the forum alongside senior Abu Dhabi officials, including Abu Dhabi Investment Office Director-General Badr al-Olama and Fatima al Hammadi, head of ADIO’s financial services sector.
Hanwha Life signed a partnership with ADIO focused on three areas: building a digital finance ecosystem, connecting the Korean and Abu Dhabi financial and capital markets, and advancing digital banking and financial innovation.
Also, Hanwha Asset Management entered a three-way partnership with Abu Dhabi Global Market and Hana Financial Group to develop stablecoin and financial infrastructure. The parties plan to expand cross-border payment and remittance solutions between Korea and Abu Dhabi while supporting an interoperable digital asset ecosystem.
Hanwha’s financial affiliates also signed a partnership with ADGM for Abu Dhabi Finance Week 2026, extending cooperation established at last year’s event. At ADFW 2025, Hanwha identified real-asset co-investment, supply chain finance, cross-border payment infrastructure and digital asset platforms as potential areas for Korea-UAE collaboration.
Im said the agreement would support the development of a stable and interoperable digital asset market and strengthen Abu Dhabi’s role in the global financial ecosystem.
“Korea is a key partner market for Abu Dhabi, with strong innovation capabilities and growth potential across finance, digital and technology sectors,” Al Hammadi said. She added that the partnership could lead to further cooperation in areas including joint investment and new business development.
