The Seoul Plaza ice rink was filled with skaters on its opening day Friday.
Operated by the Seoul Metropolitan Government, the rink began its 52-day season at 5 p.m. Friday and will remain open through Feb. 8.
Admission costs 1,000 won ($0.68).
This year’s rink has been redesigned under the theme “Wintering,” featuring a diamond-shaped ring that illuminates Seoul Plaza in warm yellow light, creating a brighter and more festive atmosphere.
As an outdoor facility, operations may be suspended during periods of poor air quality or severe weather, including rain or snowfall. Updates on operating hours are posted on the Seoul city government’s website.
