As the simultaneous wildfires in Uiseong, Sancheong and Ulju counties enter their fourth day, the blazes continue to disrupt lives, force school closures and displace residents.

In Sicheon-myeon, Sancheong-gun, where the fire started on Friday, 461 residents have been evacuated to shelters. Four schools were closed on Monday, and one school delayed its start time from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. due to danger caused by the fire. The Gyeongsangnamdo Office of Education announced that further adjustments to academic schedules may be necessary depending on the wildfire situation.

Meanwhile, in Uiseong-gun, 392 residents have evacuated to shelters including the indoor gymnasium in Uiseong-eup. At Uiseong Gymnasium, evacuees have spent three nights in tents. While 57 students in the county had to take refuge in shelters or at relatives' houses, no student injuries have been reported, and schools remain open as they are currently intact and safe from the wildfires, according to the Gyeongsangbukdo Office of Education.
