Hoshi X Woozi, a new subunit from Seventeen, debuted atop a series of music charts at home and abroad, said agency Pledis Entertainment Tuesday.
The duo dropped first single “Beam” on the previous day and claimed the top spot on daily album sales chart in Korea while focus track “96ers” headed straight to the top of the real-time chart from Bugs and iTunes Top Songs Chart in two regions. B-side track “Pinocchio (feat. So!Yoon!)” also sat among top 10 on the chart in 10 regions. Music video for “96ers” logged over 4 million views in 12 hours on YouTube.
Billboard magazine touted the pair as “the mastermind duo” of the band and People magazine wrote how they brought out “raw and genuine” single and are “a perfect match for each other’s ‘freak,’” sharing “unquenchable passion for music and an almost obssessive attitude.”
