A one-day temple tour by train will be available March 22, organized jointly by the Korail Tourism Development and the Cultural Corps of Korean Buddhism.
The train will depart from Seoul Station and make stops at Yeongdeungpo, Suwon and Cheonan stations before visiting 10 temples, including Magoksa in Gongju, Banyasa in Yeongdong and Naesosa in Buan. The participants can choose the temple they wish to visit.
At each temple, visitors will participate in various programs, including having tea, Buddhist meal offerings and Buddhist rosary crafting.
The tour also features visits to local traditional markets, hidden attractions near the temples and special performances of Korean traditional music.
Prices for the tour range from 80,000 won ($54.85) to 110,000 won per person. This includes a round-trip train ticket, car transportation, temple program participation and meals (optional).
"This train journey is a rejuvenating trip that allows you to relax both physically and mentally in a short period of time," said Kwon Baek-shin, CEO of Korail Tourism Development. "In addition to the temple experience, exploring traditional markets and local landmarks will make it an even more meaningful time."
