Jimin of BTS set another record on Spotify with solo single “Who.”
He surpassed the 1.5 billion streams mark on the platform as of Friday, achieving the feat in 223 days since release, the shortest time for a K-pop artist. It also is the fifth fastest in the music platform’s history.
“Who,” the main track from his second solo album, “Muse,” is his first single to reach the milestone on Spotify.
The hip-hop R&B tune logged the most plays among K-pop hits on Spotify across the world in 2024 and is sitting at No. 10 on Spotify’s Daily Singles Chart Global after landing atop the chart upon release.
It is spending 30 weeks on Billboard’s Hot 100, ranking No. 44 this week, peaking at No. 12.
Le Sserafim teams up with Brit band Jungle
Le Sserafim collaborated with award-winning British band Jungle for upcoming EP “Hot,” said agency Source Music Friday.
Josh Lloyd and Lydia Kitto from the seven-member act participated in a B-side track from the mini album which is due out on March 14. Le Sserafim’s voices add special charm to our producing styles, the two musicians said adding that their versatility will shine through the song.
Jungle nabbed Group of the Year award at Brit Awards, one of the most prestigious pop music awards in the UK, last year.
Le Sserafim’s fifth EP “Hot” will complete the love-themed trilogy along with third and fourth EPs, “Easy” and “Crazy.” The titular track from the fourth EP earned gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of Japan Thursday for surpassing 50 million streams.
