Hyundai Motor said Sunday its Ioniq 5 N SUV and Santa Fe SUV secured top rankings in the utility vehicle and electric vehicle categories, respectively, at the Canadian Car of the Year awards held in Toronto. The two flagship models each outpaced strong rivals in the Mazda CX-70 and Toyota Land Cruiser, as well as the Kia EV9 and Mazda CX-70 PHEV. This is the fourth time the auto giant has won the most prestigious accolades in the country. The panel praised the Santa Fe for its user-friendly design and intuitive infotainment system, while the Ioniq 5 N was lauded for its 641 horsepower and sporty driving experience, enhanced by the N e-shift. The Canadian Car of the Year awards, organized by the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada, select the winners with a panel of 47 local experts and journalists.
