Samsung Electronics on Friday released its latest flagship model Galaxy S25 series in major markets, starting with South Korea, the US, the UK, India and Thailand. The firm said the devices would eventually be sold in more than 120 countries.
In tandem with the launch, Google’s AI model Gemini, which is built into the S25 series, now supports 46 languages.
The tech giant unveiled the latest S25 series at its Galaxy Unpacked event in San Jose, California, last month.
Even before the launch, the S25 series broke records with over 1.3 million pre-orders in South Korea, marking the largest presale record for its S series models. The predecessor S24 sold 1.21 million in pre-orders last year.
The new S25 series is equipped with One UI 7, the latest interface built on Android OS, which enables more personalized AI interactions through text, voice, images and videos.

Some of the new features include “Now Brief,” which provides users with real-time personalized information updates, and “Now Bar,” which allows easy access to key activities directly from the lock screen.
Other new AI-powered tools, such as “Writing Assist” and “Drawing Assist," help users with their writing and drawings.
The latest series is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy processor, offering more powerful display performance and efficiency, including AI-based image processing.
It also features an upgraded camera equipped with a high-resolution sensor and an AI-powered ProVisual Engine, designed to capture detailed images at any distance.
Samsung has also introduced a new subscription service called New Galaxy AI Subscription Club. With a monthly fee of 5,900 won ($4.08), users who purchase an S25 device can receive benefits such as a 50 percent refund on the device’s value at trade-in, Samsung Care+ coverage for discounts to repair fees and discounts on mobile accessories.
The lineup comes in three models: the standard, Plus and Ultra editions. As for the much-hyped slim variant, the name of which is confirmed to be Edge, is expected to roll out potentially in the second quarter this year.
Samsung has frozen the prices for the S25 series at the same levels as its predecessor, the S24.
The price of S25 models starts at 1.15 million won for the standard version, 1.35 million won for the Plus, and 1.69 million won for the Ultra editions.
