
BTS amassed 2 billion streams on Spotify with “Dynamite,” said label Big Hit Music Tuesday citing the platform’s data from Saturday.
The 2020 mega hit is the first K-pop song to achieve the feat. The digital single has set a series of records on the platform as a K-pop tune: debuting atop its Daily Top Songs Global and reaching the one-billion-mark for the first time, as well as generating the most plays on its day of release.
With “Dynamite,” the band claimed the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s Hot 100 for the first time in K-pop history and stayed atop the chart for three weeks. It also earned a nomination from the Grammy Awards, another first for a K-pop singer. The music video for the uplifting song surpassed 1.9 billion views on YouTube last month.
Blackpink’s Rose sits at No. 5 on Billboard’s Hot 100

Rose of Blackpink maintained the No. 5 spot on Billboard’s Hot 100 with “APT.,” according to the chart published Monday in the US.
The Bruno Mars collaboration notched the spot, the highest for a K-pop female solo artist, during the previous week, and will be staying on the main songs chart for 12 weeks in a row.
The catchy tune also is reigning atop Billboard’s Global 200 and Global excl. US for 11 weeks straight.
“APT.” was dropped in October as a prerelease from her first solo album, “Rosie.” The single ranked at No. 2 on the UK’s Official Singles Chart Top 100 in its 12th week.
Meanwhile, she is set to perform as a solo act at Le Gala Des Pieces Jaunes, or the Yellow Coin Concert, a charity concert that will be held in Paris on Jan. 23.
Red Velvet’s Joy to stay with SM Entertainment

Joy of Red Velvet renewed her contract with SM Entertainment, her label announced Tuesday.
“Based on the trust and conviction from the past decade … I felt I want to continue to move forward in a good direction,” said the singer and actor via the company.
She is the third member of the quintet to sign a renewal, after Seulgi and Irene, who inked deals in 2023 and 2024, respectively. Wendy and Yeri are yet to finalize their decisions.
Her group debuted in August 2014 with single “Happiness” and released EP “Cosmic” in June last year, which topped iTunes Top Albums Chart in 41 regions. The group hosted a fan concert tour in Asia last year to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their debut.
Joy put out solo special album “Hello” in 2021 and also appeared in a series of dramas since 2017.
Treasure to hold fan concert in Seoul in March

Treasure will host a fan concert called Special Moment in Seoul March 29-30, announced label YG Entertainment Tuesday.
The news came along with a highlight video from the band’s previous concerts in which the members share their confidence in performance and their love for fans.
The two-day live event will signal the beginning of the band’s tour that will include visits to four cities in the US tour in Japan. It will be the first time for the 10-member act to meet its fans in the US.
The band is gearing up to return with its third EP next month. Its latest endeavor was single “Last Night,” which was released last month and topped the iTunes Top Songs Chart in 11 regions.
