Nvidia Corp. CEO Jensen Huang said Wednesday that Samsung Electronics Co.'s memory chips are featured in his company's latest graphics processing unit, correcting an earlier misstatement.

"GeForce RTX 50 series features high speed GDDR7 memory manufactured by multiple partners, starting with Samsung," Huang said in a statement.

The GeForce RTX 50 series, unveiled earlier this week at CES 2025, represents Nvidia's next generation of graphics cards for personal computers and laptops.

During his keynote speech on Monday, Huang had initially mentioned US chipmaker Micron Technology Inc. as a supplier for the new GPU.

At a press event the following day, he further claimed, "I think Samsung and SK, they don't make graphic memory," when asked why Nvidia does not use memory chips from Samsung Electronics and SK hynix Inc.

However, Huang quickly retracted this comment, acknowledging his error.

"My mistake. I don't know why it's not," he added. (Yonhap)
