Stray Kids announced its fifth official fan meetup Wednesday via label JYP Entertainment.
A poster for SKZ 5’Clock showed that the eight members will greet fans at Inspire Arena in Incheon on Feb. 14-16. The last day’s event will be livestreamed as well.
This specifies the yearlong plan the band put out Monday, which also includes resuming world tour dominATE from March. It is slated to visit 20 cities across the world from Santiago, Chile and Los Angeles to Paris and London.
Last month, the octet set a record, placing its sixth consecutive album – mixtape “Hop” -- atop Billboard 200 tying that of BTS. It also became the first artist in the chart history to have all six albums debut atop the chart.
NewJeans tops 300m views with ‘OMG’ music video
NewJeans garnered 300 million views on YouTube with the music video for “OMG,” said agency Ador Wednesday.
It is the first time the group reached the milestone on the platform.
The hip-hop R&B tune is the titular track from its single that came out in January last year. It was the quintet’s second entry on Billboard’s Hot 100, barely six months into its music career, staying on the chart for six weeks in a row, peaking at No. 74.
“OMG” has more than 700 million plays on Spotify along with prerelease from the single album “Ditto,” its first song to hit Billboard’s Hot 100. With the two songs, the group picked up 10 trophies from weekly television music chart shows in Korea.
Zerobaseone drops prerelease from 5th EP
Zerobaseone surprised fans with the news that it will release a song from its fifth EP in advance on Jan. 20.
The band of nine will drop “Doctor! Doctor!” from EP that is due out next month, giving a taste of the mini album before it starts promoting its first EP in Japan from later this month, said agency WakeOne Entertainment Wednesday.
Its last album was fourth EP “Cinema Paradise” from August last year. The main track from the album, “Good So Bad,” was named one of the best K-pop songs of 2024 by a slew of media outlets, including Grammy.com and Dazed magazine. All four EPs it has released since debut each sold over a million copies on their day of release and its first Asis tour Timeless World drew audiences totalling 140,000.
The band is set to bring out Japanese EP “Prezent” on Jan. 29.
(G)I-dle’s Minnie to bring out 1st solo set
Minnie of (G)I-dle will put out her first solo album “Her” on Jan. 21, said agency Cube Entertainment Wednesday.
On Tuesday, she unveiled a music video for “Blind Eyes Red,” a B-side track from the forthcoming album, without notice. She hinted at the bold concept of her solo endeavor going blonde in the visuals.
She is the fourth member of the five-member act to have a solo album and is doing so seven years since she debuted as a member of the group. Her solo album would be the first new music from the group since all members renewed their contracts with the agency.
Meanwhile, a concert film of (G)I-dle’s Seoul show, from August last year, will come to cinemas on Wednesday. The sold-out two-date show launched tour iDOL which took the members to 13 more cities around the world.
