North Korea's state media published a news report Friday on the aftermath of President Yoon Suk Yeol's impeachment, describing South Korea as political paralyzed and socially chaotic.

"In puppet South Korea, an unprecedented impeachment took place following the Dec. 3 martial law incident, and a detention warrant was issued for the president, paralyzing state affairs and further deepening social and political chaos," the Korean Central News Agency reported.

The KCNA described in detail the key political and social developments in South Korea following the impeachment, including the subsequent impeachment of acting President and Prime Minister Han Duck-soo, law enforcement's impending execution of a detention warrant against Yoon as well as his letter sent to supporters.

"Foreign media have criticized that South Korea has been thrown deeper into a political storm," the KCNA claimed.

North Korea's state media first reported on Yoon's impeachment on Dec. 16, two days after it occurred, but had since remained silent on the issue.

Friday's report was also published on the sixth page of the Rodong Sinmun daily, which caters to the general readership in North Korea, in what appears to be an effort to highlight the North Korean regime's stability by comparison.

Yoon faces investigation on charges of insurrection for his short-lived invocation of martial law on Dec. 3. The National Assembly voted to impeach him the following week, and the Constitutional Court will review to decide whether to uphold the impeachment or reinstate him. (Yonhap)
