Donga TV held a charity classical music concert for multicultural families at the Center for Gangnam-gu Residents in southern Seoul on Monday.

The second “Classical Music Night with Love and Sharing” concert aimed at promoting the School of Global Sarang, a new international elementary school established in March in Oryu-dong for multilingual and multicultural education. It is open to children from first grade to sixth grade and is now receiving applications for the 90 places for admission next year.

“As the number of multicultural children is quickly surging every year, we need to pay more attention to them and support them,” a Donga TV official said.

The concert consisted of three parts ― popular songs from various countries, Korean songs, Italian canzone and opera arias. More than 100 members of multicultural families were invited.

The concert was part of Donga TV’s 2011 campaign, “Dream Together for Second Generation Children of Multi-cultural Families.”
