South Korean builder Daewoo Engineering & Construction announced Sunday that its Chairman Jung Won-ju recently met with key stakeholders in Vietnam’s southern provinces of Binh Duong and Dong Nai to discuss the company’s expansion plans in the region.

On Thursday, Jung held talks with Vo Van Minh, chairman of Binh Duong Provincial People's Committee at the committee's office and reaffirmed Daewoo E&C’s commitment to entering the southern Vietnam market.

“Leveraging the successful experience and profitability of the Starlake City new town project in Hanoi, we are actively pursuing reinvestment projects in Vietnam,” Jung said. "Daewoo E&C not only excels in new town development but also demonstrates strong competitiveness in infrastructure sectors such as roads, railways, power and logistics. We are confident that our efforts can greatly contribute to the economic growth of Binh Duong Province.”

In response, Vo Van Minh pledged administrative support from the provincial government for Daewoo E&C’s projects, according to the builder.

Later that day, Jung met with Nguyen Van Hung, chairman of Becamex IDC, a leading company in Binh Duong Province involved in industrial parks, real estate development, health care and energy. The two leaders discussed opportunities for collaboration to support Daewoo E&C’s planned investments in the province.

On Friday, the Daewoo E&C chief visited Dong Nai Province, located east of Ho Chi Minh City, where he met with Nguyen Hong Linh, the party committee's secretary of the province. Jung discussed potential urban development projects and sought collaboration for initiatives currently under review.

Urging provincial authorities to actively support the endeavor, the chairman emphasized that the company was seeking to develop a “vibrant, mixed-use city" in Dong Nai Province that integrates education, business and public facilities.
