Ingredients:

  • 1 kilogram pork ribs
  • A pinch of sesame seeds
  • Marinade ingredients
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 3 tablespoons cooking wine
  • 2 tablespoons rice wine
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons rice syrup
  • 1/4 onion
  • 1/4 Asian pear
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 1/3 stalk green onion (white part only)
  • A pinch of ginger powder
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • A pinch of black pepper
  • 1 cup water

(Serves 4)

Instructions:

Slice the meat attached to the pork ribs along the bone, then score the flesh to help the marinade penetrate.

In a blender, combine the onion, Asian pear, garlic, green onion (white part) and water, and blend until smooth. Transfer the mixture to a bowl, add the remaining marinade ingredients and mix well to create the marinade.

Pour the marinade over the prepared pork ribs and refrigerate for at least 2 hours. (For best results, marinate for up to a day in the refrigerator to allow the flavors to fully develop and tenderize the meat.)

Preheat a pan, then cook the marinated pork ribs, grilling both sides until golden brown.

Place the grilled pork ribs on a plate, cut them into bite-sized pieces and garnish with a sprinkle of sesame seeds.
