Main ingredients:

6 king oyster mushrooms

1/3 red bell pepper, 1/3 yellow bell pepper

1/2 red onion (or regular onion)

4 cups cooking oil

4 tablespoons cornstarch

Marinade for mushrooms:

1 tablespoon soy sauce

1 tablespoon sesame oil

A pinch of salt

A pinch of black pepper (optional)

Sauce ingredients:

2 tablespoons soy sauce

3 tablespoons oligosaccharide (or corn syrup)

3 tablespoons vinegar

2 tablespoons sugar

1/2 cup water

Starch water:

1 tablespoon cornstarch

2 tablespoons water

Batter:

2 cups cornstarch

1 cup water

(serves 2 to 3)


Instructions:

Cut the mushrooms, bell peppers and onion into bite-sized pieces.

Marinate the mushrooms with soy sauce, sesame oil, salt and pepper.

Prepare the batter mixture and lightly coat the mushrooms with cornstarch. Dip them in the batter.

Deep-fry the mushrooms in oil heated to 160 degrees Celsius until crispy.

In a pan, bring the sauce ingredients to a boil, then add the vegetables and cook briefly. Thicken the sauce with starch water.

Serve the fried mushrooms with the sauce poured over them. Enjoy!
