CL, the leader of K-pop girl group 2NE1, will be releasing her debut solo single “The Baddest Female” on Tuesday, according to her agency YG Entertainment.

“After the local promotions of CL’s upcoming music video are complete, we plan to introduce her overseas as part of our new project,” her agency representative stated in a press release.

Often referring to herself as the “baddest female Seoul has ever had,” CL has performed as part of the dynamic girl group 2NE1 for the past four years and this single release will mark her first big step in promoting herself as a solo hip-hop artist.

The song title was originally slated to be “Bad Girl,” but due to the recent release of Lee Hyori’s newest lead track of the same title, her agency decided to change the English title to “The Baddest Female.”

Both the single and the music video will be released simultaneously on Tuesday: The track said to be a slow-tempo hip-hop song while some of her label mates including Big Bang members G-Dragon and Taeyang make guest appearances on the music video.
