Mannam Volunteer Association is hosting two musical fund-raisers in Seoul on Saturday.

The first will be an open mic event in Seoul’s Itaewon area from 1-4:30 p.m.

Entry will be 5,000 won at the door of Itaewon 86 bar, to generate funds to support the non-profit organization’s future projects. Past and future projects will be on display, along with information on how to get involved in upcoming events. Those interested in music, poetry, dance and performance art may also register to perform by emailing volunteers@mannamintl.org with “Mannam’s got Talent” in the subject box.

The second event will be a charity concert to support children in Africa to provide them with school supplies. The concert will run from 7-9 p.m. at Naru Arts Center, near Konkuk University Station. All money raised from the 10,000 won ticket price will be donated to Al-Noor Orphanage Center in South Africa.

The performers include two hip-hop musicians and three bands. Canadian hip-hop MC Jesse Day, who raps in Korean; Canadian rapper Sammy Clay, and 4 Bon Chulgu (“Exit Number 4”), which is made up of five blind members. Expat three-piece Magna Fall and indie-rockers Used Cassettes will also perform.
