Popular veteran singer Kim Dong-ryul announced that he will be returning to his fans with a new album in commemoration of his 20th year in the music industry.

Kim posted on his personal Facebook page on Monday that he had just completed work on his next album and hopes he will be able to unveil the tracks sometime this year.

“I have been looking at a number of songs that I had written several years before as well as ones that I’ve written recently, and even in one day my mind keeps changing back and forth,” he wrote. “It’s difficult to decide on the type of songs that I want to sing and the type of songs that I’m good at singing, as well as the type of songs that I want my fans to hear. I hope to show a new side of myself through my songs.”

The 39-year-old singer made his debut in 1994 as part of the vocal duet “Exhibition” along with his close friend Seo Dong-wook. After three years, Exhibition disbanded and Kim went on to form “Carnival” with vocalist Lee Juck, who also made a comeback recently. Carnival had great success with its eponymous debut album and snagged a Golden Disk Award. Kim later went on to build a prominent solo career releasing more than five albums including his last release “kimdongrYULE” in 2011.

“This year marks the 20th year since I debuted. I never thought I would be doing music for this long so I’m really thankful for that,” the singer said. “When I was younger, I wanted to make music that was trendy, but now I wish to make music that will move people’s hearts, and make songs that will strengthen and encourage listeners.”
