Jun of Seventeen will star in the Chinese movie “Summer Never Ends,” his agency Pledis Entertainment said Wednesday.
He plays the male lead, a college student working part-time at a photography studio who reunites with his childhood love — played by Bai Baihe — who returned to her hometown to take care of her mother.
Also known as Wen Junhui, the singer and actor will take on a young and serene character, a 180-degree turn from the villain he played in “The Shadow’s Edge,” a Jackie Chan action thriller from last year.
The release date of the upcoming film, directed by award-winning filmmaker Bao Jingjing, is yet to be announced.
Separately, all 13 members of Seventeen renewed their contracts with the agency in July. By October, eight will be enlisted, and five — Junghan, S.Coups, The8, Jun and Joshua — will continue individual activities.
