NewJeans’ hit song “Super Shy” has surpassed 900 million streams on Spotify, becoming the group’s third song to reach the milestone, according to Ador on Sunday.
As of Friday, “Super Shy” has accumulated 900,048,067 streams on the global music platform. “Omg” and “Ditto” are the other two NewJeans tracks to have surpassed 900 million streams.
Released in July 2023 as part of the group’s second EP, “Get Up,” ‘Super Shy” is characterized by its upbeat sound built around Jersey club rhythms.
The song spent eight weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 and nine weeks on the UK Official Singles Chart. “Get Up,” meanwhile, topped the Billboard 200 in August 2023.
“Super Shy” was also the only K-pop song included on US music publication Pitchfork’s list of the 100 best songs of the 2020s. The track was also named among the best songs of 2023 by publications including Billboard, Rolling Stone, The Guardian, NME and i-D.
NewJeans’ entire discography has accumulated around 8 billion streams on Spotify to date. In addition to the group’s three songs with more than 900 million streams, “Hype Boy” has surpassed 700 million, while “New Jeans” and “Attention” have each exceeded 500 million.
