Tour 2000, a travel agency in Seoul, will sponsor the JS Foundation set up by soccer star Park Ji-sung.
The JS Foundation provides scholarships to talented young football players, promotes Korean footballers and supports the improvement of football infrastructure.
The travel agency said Thursday that it would sponsor the JS Cup international football tournament for children. It also plans to hold Park’s football clinic for children and give them soccer balls with his signature.
Tour 2000 signed an agreement with the foundation on April 24 to sponsor its programs for young Korean footballers.
“For Koreans, Park is a star player who demonstrated our football excellence in the 2002 Korea-Japan World Cup and later in Europe. He is also a benefactor who has created a scholarship foundation for aspiring child and adolescent footballers,” said Yang Moo-seung, chief executive of Tour 2000.
He added that his company would join many other programs to fulfill its corporate social responsibility.
