North Korea's leader Kim Jong-un, traveling by armored train, is expected to arrive in Beijing later today.
Security has been visibly tightened at key points along the North Korea–China border and at Beijing Station, with newly erected fences reportedly intended to block visibility and Chinese officials stationed on high alert.
North Korea’s state media early Tuesday confirmed that Kim had set off by private train on Monday to attend China’s Victory Day celebrations, where he will join Chinese President Xi Jinping, Russian President Vladimir Putin and other leaders.
