[DISCLOSURE] Alphachips (117670) said on Aug. 17 that it plans to invest 5 billion won (US$4.5 million) in launching a new biotechnology subsidiary, Alpha Biolabs.

The investment amounts to 14.8 percent of the firm’s capital.
