The first solo studio album from Jennie of Blackpink sold more than 660,000 copies in its first week, the most this year for a K-pop solo female singer, according to a local tally Friday.

The LP “Ruby” was unveiled on March 7 and debuted atop the iTunes Top Albums Chart in 21 regions. The 15-track album fronted by “like Jennie” includes collaborations with A-list musicians such as Dua Lipa (“Handlebars”) and Doechii (“ExtraL”).

Jennie released six music videos for the album, demonstrating how serious she is about music. The most recent release “Handlebars” amassed close to 9 million views on YouTube; "Like Jennie" has reached 26 million views as of Friday.

The artist will perform live in Incheon on Saturday to mark the release of the LP as she did in Los Angeles and New York earlier this month.
