
Stray Kids cinched gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of America with “Hop,” according to the organization on Tuesday in the US.
The album came out in December last year and is the band’s ninth endeavor overall to earn gold in the country. It is the octet’s fifth album to do so, a first for a K-pop band.
The 12-track album sold over 1.8 million copies in the first week and topped iTunes Top Albums Chart in 28 regions while lead single “Walkin on Water” ranked atop its Top Songs Chart in 25.
It debuted atop Billboard 200 and became the band’s sixth consecutive chart-topping album. It is mainly consisted of solo songs the bandmates presented through their ongoing world tour “dominATE.” They are set to resume the tour in Santiago on March 27.
On March 21, they will drop digital single “Mixtape: dominATE,” its fifth release in the Mixtape series.
