Jisoo of Blackpink debuted atop the iTunes Top Albums Chart in 39 regions with her first solo EP “Amortage,” agency Blissoo said Monday.
The four-track album garnered over 5 million plays on Spotify on its release day and sold over 385,000 copies in one day, a record for a K-pop solo artist this year.
The music video for the main track, “Earthquake,” amassed more than 19 million views in three days after charting No. 1 on YouTube’s trending music video list. Jisoo cited Britney Spears as her inspiration, singling out the music video for “Baby One More Time” in an interview with Billboard magazine saying: “I love that pop vibe, and I always say, ‘I want to shoot something with that kind of energy.’”
After promoting the new album, she will tour seven cities in Asia for her first solo fan meetup tour.
Monsta X’s I.M to hold encore in Japan

I.M of Monsta X is set to go live again in Japan, according to agency Sony Music Entertainment Korea on Monday.
He will host “Off The Beat Final in Japan” in Tokyo and Osaka on April 4-5 and 11-12, respectively, taking to the stage twice each day. The encore gig comes after the one he held in Seoul last month as the original conclusion of his tour that spanned 18 cities in 10 countries.
In the meantime, Monsta X is expected to return as a full group soon. Jooheon completed his mandatory military service in January, and so Kihyun will be discharged next week. Hyungwon will complete serving his duty in May in time for the band’s 10th debut anniversary. I.M, the youngest of the five-member act, has yet to enlist.
