The performance video for Blackpink’s “Shut Down” surpassed 200 million views on YouTube Sunday, label YG Entertainment said Monday.

It is the group’s 13th dance video to hit the milestone, and it did so in about two years and four months. Upon release in 2022, it headed straight to the top of most trending videos in 24 hours on the platform, generating 10 million hits in half a day.

The music video for the hip-hop tune has close to 700 million views. The single fronted the album “Born Pink” and debuted on Billboard’s Hot 100 at No. 25. The LP claimed the top spot on the Billboard 200 as well as the UK’s Official Albums Chart Top 100, making Blackpink the first K-pop girl group to top both.

2NE1 to hold April encore in Seoul

2NE1 will host encore concerts in Seoul on April 12-13, announced label YG Entertainment Monday.

The encore gig will be three times larger than the three-date October show which hailed the group's return after eight years.

The group set fans abuzz with the show "Welcome Back," which was timed for the 15th anniversary of its debut and expanded it into an Asia tour. The four members visited Manila, Jakarta, Hong Kong, Singapore and two cities in Japan last year and will resume the tour in Bangkok later this month. They are slated to perform in four more cities through the end of February.

2NE1 also put together a best-of album that will be available as a vinyl. It will not only include all its hit songs but also the live performance of “Come Back Home” from the Seoul concert.

Riize’s debut song logs 100m Spotify streams

Riize garnered 100 million streams on Spotify as of last month with its debut single, label SM Entertainment said Monday citing the platform.

It is the rookie band’s first song to achieve the feat. “Get A Guitar” is from its first physical single of the same title released in September 2023. The debut album sold over a million copies in the first week and topped Oricon’s Daily Album Ranking.

The song was picked as one of “The 25 Best K-Pop Songs of 2023” by Billboard magazine which wrote that it “highlights the group’s strength … and features the boys relishing the joy of music … as well as give a peek into what’s to come from the budding idols.”

Meanwhile, the six-member team postponed a fan event slated for Saturday to next month in mourning for the Muan plane crash victims.

Ive floats teaser for EP No. 3

Ive uploaded a teaser trailer for its third EP “Ive Empathy” Sunday via agency Starship Entertainment.

The three minute video followed the members through a range of emotions, from being happy together to not understanding each other before they hug and shout “Love You!.”

The six-member act is expected to drop the prerelease “Rebel Heart” on Jan. 13 and the mini album will be fully unveiled Feb. 3.

The EP comes about nine months after its previous EP “Ive Switch,” which sold over 1.3 million copies in the first week. In addition to the success of its fourth consecutive million-selling album, the group hosted its first international tour which spanned 28 cities in 19 countries for 37 concerts, wrapping up at Tokyo Dome.
