KBS 2TV 파일럿(시범) 예능 프로그램 '엄마가 있는 풍경 - 마마도(이하 마마도)'가 정규 편성돼 오는 26일부터 시청자를 만난다.
KBS는 10일 "'마마도'는 원래 2회 분량의 파일럿 방송으로 준비됐지만, 정규 편성이 확정돼 재정비의 시간을 갖고 다음 촬영을 준비하고 있다"며 "종영이 아닌 새로운 출발"이라고 밝혔다.
'마마도'는 김영옥, 김용림, 이효춘, 김수미 등 평균 연기 경력이 50년에 달하는 중견 여배우들의 진솔한 여행기를 담은 프로그램으로 지난달 29일 첫 회는 전국 기준 10.2%(닐슨코리아)의 높은 시청률을 기록했다.
그러나 이 프로그램은 중견 배우 4명이 배낭여행을 떠나는 tvN '꽃보다 할배'와 콘셉트가 유사하다는 지적도 받았다.
KBS는 이에 대해 "'마마도'는 단순한 여행이 아닌 여배우들이 지닌 삶에 대한 진솔함과 빛나는 인생 내공 등을 프로그램에 녹여냈다"며 "좀 더 내면에 집중한 버라이어티라는 점에서 '꽃보다 할배'와는 확연한 차이를 보인다"고 해명한 바 있다.
Pilot senior show ‘Mamado’ gets regular slot
A pilot travel show featuring four veteran actresses was so popular that it finally came to grab a regular slot of the state-run network KBS, the broadcaster confirmed.
“Mamado” was initially produced as two-episode pilot. When its first edition aired on Aug. 29, its ratings soared to a respectable 10.2 percent.
The cast members, with the average age of 68, are well-known actresses: Kim Yong-rim, Kim Soo-mi, Kim Yong-ok and Lee Hyo-choon. Armed with years of acting experience, the women went on a trip together that was highly entertaining for the audience. Their teamwork helped the project nail the regular slot.
All-new episodes as a regular program premiere Sept. 26.
But the show is not at all groundbreaking. From the outset, it came under fire for liberally using the senior-celebrities-go-traveling format popularized by tvN’s reality show “Flower H4,” which depicts four senior actors backpacking across Europe.
