나이지리아 여가수이자 U.N. 평화 대사인 아도키예 (Adokiye,23)는 보코 하람에게 납치된 여학생들을 집으로 돌려보내면 자신의 ‘처녀성’을 그들에게 바칠 수 있다는 제안을 했다고 외신들이 보도했다.
그녀는 나이지리아 신문인 뱅가드 (Vanguard)와의 인터뷰를 통해 “ 밤 11시인 지금, 나는 무슨 생각을 하고 있는지 아느냐? 납치된 불쌍한 여자아이들이 지금 어디서 뭐하는지 그리고 그들에게 무슨 일이 닥칠지에 대한 생각을 하고 있다.”
“너무 불공평한 상황이다. 그들은 12살과 15살 사이의 어린 여자아이들이다. 나는 나이가 더 많고 경험이 더 많다. 내가 매일 10-12명의 남자들과 자야한다고 해도 상관없다. 그들이 풀려나고 부모님 곁으로 돌아갔으면 좋겠다,”라는 말을 덧붙였다.
보코 하람에게 납치된 수백명의 여학생들은 전 세계적으로 이슈가 되고 있으며, 석방 캠페인이 미셸 오바마와 같은 세계적인 지도자들로 부터도 지원을 받고있다. 이 소식을 접한 일부 누리꾼들은 아도키예에의 제안이 매우 용감하다고 평을 내린 반면 이런 제안을 부정적으로 바라보는 이들도 많다.

Nigerian singer offers virginity in exchange for kidnapped girls
The Nigerian pop star and U.N. Ambassador of Peace Adokiye offered her virginity to the terrorist group Boko Haram in exchange for the release of kidnapped school girls, according to the Daily Mail.
Adokiye, 23, told the Nigerian newspaper Vanguard, “This is 11pm in the night and do you know what I am thinking about? Those little girls, where they are and what could be happening to them.”
She added that “It is just unfair. ... They are between 12 and 15 ... I am older and more experienced. Even if 10 to 12 men have to take me every night, I don’t care. Just release these girls and let them go back to their parents.”
Boko Haram’s abduction of the girls has become a worldwide issue. World leaders like Michelle Obama have urged for the girls to be returned.
Some social media users have said that Adokiye’s words are “very touching,” while others claim that her comments are not very useful at all.
