Posco Engineering & Construction, a construction arm of Korea’s largest steelmaker, topped this year’s Korea Standard-Quality Excellence Index, the company said Thursday.

The firm has won the best apartment sector award for eight consecutive years since 2009.

As part of efforts to offer differentiated high quality services to residents of the apartment complex The Sharp, Posco Construction recently introduced its Clean Out Service, which cleans 4- to 5-year-old pipes in bathrooms, kitchens and laundry rooms.

Besides the Clean Out Service, the firm also has other services to enhance residents’ convenience, the firm said in a statement.

Residents can get their mattresses and kitchen cleaned through the Clean Service, while the Sharing Service offers carts for residents to easily move any heavy objects from a parking lot to their homes.

Since July 2007, the construction unit of Posco has been operating Sharpist, an advisory group composed of housewives, aimed at developing products that can upgrade the quality of The Sharp. Members of the advisory group share their opinions on housing, and suggest ideas for new services or products that are useful.
