The forthcoming winter will be mostly dry, with temperatures slightly higher than, or similar to, the average for the time of year, the state weather agency predicted Monday.

“November and December will likely see about-average temperatures, while January 2017 could be warmer than usual,” said the Korea Metrological Administration in its three-month weather forecast.

It also predicted less rainfall or snowfall throughout the season, while warning that temperature fluctuations could be drastic.

In early winter, a mild La Nina could affect the peninsula, sending temperatures plunging.

Crisp and clear weather is in store for most of November, while there could be occasional cold snaps setting in with the development of Siberian high pressure systems.
