Mom accused of choking son to death

A mother is in custody under the charge of choking her son to death, police said Monday.

Daegu Dongbu Police are investigating the suspect, 42, known by her surname Jeon, in connection with the death of her 7-year-old son Friday.

The suspect allegedly took the elementary school kid to a motel in Daegu and choked him to death on the bed, police said.

After she carried out the crime, she took him back to her apartment and was spotted by her husband, who reported the case to police immediately.

Authorities said they are still investigating the child’s cause of death and inquiring into the motive for the crime.
