[THE INVESTOR] South Korean tech giant Samsung Electronics predicted on Oct. 7 that it's third-quarter earnings in 2016 may reach 7.8 trillion won (US$6.98 billion).
It is a 5.55 percent rise on year amid the still ongoing global recall of the Galaxy Note 7 smartphone with a faulty battery.
Compared with the previous quarter, the July-September period profit is estimated to fall 4.18 percent.
Sales are estimated to fall 5.19 percent on year to 49 trillion won
